French, Band and CTF
One of the great parts about middle school at Bearspaw is our offering of a huge variety of Career and Technology Foundations (CTF) options, in addition to our amazing band and French programming. We do require all Grade 7/8 students to select either band or French. If your student has not done either before, please do not worry! Our band and French teachers are experienced in working with brand new students with no previous experience!
Here's how options work at Bearspaw School: we have 3 options blocks – A,B and C. Band and French classes run all year during A and B blocks, and students will be placed into their selected options in either. From there, students will be enrolled in other CTF options (each running for 1 term) based on their selections in A or B (opposite to the band/French block) and C blocks. Bearspaw School has divided CTF options into 4 areas: Health and Wellness, STEM, Fine Arts and Skilled Trades. We ask all students to select their top choices in all areas to ensure they are enrolled in something that interests them but also offers variety.
