What is Friends of Bearspaw Education Society (FBES)?
We are a parent-run volunteer group whose sole purpose is to raise funds to enhance the student experience at Bearspaw School.
Over the course of each school year, we fund numerous events and things. Each year FBES provides approximately $70k of funding to the school. The beautiful mosaic you see as you enter the building was created by students and Michelle Austen, a past FBES project. Student access to technology and the various athletics programs are enhanced through FBES funding. FBES is also pleased to support the monthly awards given to students and the many guest speakers throughout the year, highlighted by Bear in Mind Day. We also provide funds for new library books each year, as well as a Literacy Program. FBES is a significant supporter of the Bearspaw music and band programs.
If FBES didn’t exist our students would not receive these new things or extras. Schools and school boards do not have the money to readily replace outdated technology or order new books for the library each year. It falls on parents to help support our students’ learning. Each student benefits from the work FBES does.
Please join us in our effort to make our children’s experience at Bearspaw School the best it can be. Come to a meeting, submit a fundraising idea, or volunteer. Our meetings are held the third Wednesday morning of each month.
Fundraising Guidelines
Fundraising at the Bearspaw School should enhance learning and physical activities as well as help create and promote our school culture.
