Kindergarten Registration for 2023/2024

Registration for the 2023/2024 school year is now open.

All registration must be completed online. Paper application forms are no longer available.

New RVS Families: To register a child for Kindergarten, please create a new SchoolEngage account.

Current RVS Families: To register a new child for Kindergarten, login to the PowerSchool Parent Portal and access SchoolEngage on the left-hand menu.

Requirements: Proof of the child’s age and legal name. Documents accepted are birth certificate, adoption certificate, student authorization visa, Canadian citizenship papers or permanent landed immigrant/residence documentation

Proof of the child’s address. Documents must have the name of the parent/guardian who lives with the student, a document within the last six months and an Alberta address that matches the Student Resident Address.

Age Requirements: The standardized age of entry requires students to turn five years old by December 31 of the school year they begin Kindergarten. This means children born between Jan. 1 and Dec. 31, 2018, can register for Kindergarten for the 2023/24 school year.

(Students admitted to Grade 1 must be six years old by September 1, or five years old and have completed Kindergarten in the previous year.)
